Who ever said life was easy. When one goes through difficult times in life one would find it hard to keep it real and staying positive. Some say that it is how one bounces back or recovers after being pummeled to the ground characterizes a person.
It is during the most challenging time when one’s true character is truly tested. How would one cope with the cards that life has dealt? What would be the avenue that one seeks to get up on one’s own two feet again? Where would the inspiration come from to get back up again?
When will life’s trials and tribulations finally relent and give way to the sunshine after the downpour. Some would even ask, why get up anymore to only get smashed to the ground all over again.
Some say that the night is darkest just before sunrise but night is dark none the less. Some also say that there will always be light at the end of the tunnel but it can so easily be an oncoming train slamming you head on.
So how does one keep it real when the chips are down? Well it varies to be honest. Some turn to prayers, music, books, food, their partner, their friends while there are also some who resort to vice in a bid to find some reprieve.
REAL can easily be the acronym for Reality Encompasses All Life as the title might suggest which at a glance, one cant escape life when it turns south on you and only expect to enjoy when things are smooth. It is just a part of life that no one, whoever you may be can escape from.
As a reminder to everyone and especially to me, when the plans do not go to plan (it will, life is just like that), do whatever it takes for one to do and keep one’s chin and spirits up and keep it real.

Trials and tribulations are part of life (and beyond too). My Tok Gurus always remind me "Jangan panggil diri kamu orang yang beriman jika belum diuji".
As what I have often told my other friends in dire straits, be an egg and do not be a vegetable.
An egg comes out of hot water tough (hard-boiled lah tu) while the vegetable comes out soft and soggy.

The last two years of my life have not been particulary attractive. Things happen. The most important thing to remember is that when the shit hits the fan, be ready to get splattered. After that take off your clothes, mandi, and soldier on.
