*Here we go...again*

Not for the first time I haven't been totally blogging after yet another period of inactivity. Seriously, if this blog had feelings and a soul, I would have been sent to the gallows for the amount times I've "hibernated" from updating Baine's World.

The new year came and went with the first month of 2008 almost over. What a year 2007 had been indeed for me. Work wise I had my first experience of the volatile nature that is the vendor world of IT. It was quite an initiation for me, always looking from the other side of the glass window to be suddenly thrust into a few multi-million "shiRinggit" project at the first time of asking.

How did it went? It depends on which side of the party you're on. I think I did well, delivering a medium sized project with so many issues and challenges. Having said that, my other project was 3 times the cost and scope of the previous and I'd have to admit, I had been found wanting on a couple of occasions. I learned so much and made so many new acquaintances which has improved not only me as a project manager but also as a person.

I've since left that particular company, heading out the front door with a host people behind me in waiting to get out too. Reasons for leaving are better left with me for professional reasons but there are only 2 wonderful souls that I had decided to share it with. Both mean the world to me and I will always wish them the best of luck in all their future undertakings.

At the new company I'm playing the same role as a project manager albeit a totally different one. I've gone from having a say and playing a part in every single aspect of a project to one that does not even meet the client. Working and having my boss who's an American based in the states is also a totally new experience for me. Sometimes though I wonder if life's slow or because I was on a runaway train for the past year that a normal working pace is too slow for me. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

On the other side of life I've moved along too. In 2007 I began the initial preparations to enter my next stage in life. In October of 2007, on the 20th to be exact, I got engaged to my girl who I had been going out since the end of 2006. Surprised, shocked? I hope not. I've had my fair share of fun during my short yet eventful life and yes I think its time for me to also move on. Life as they say is a constant wheel that continues to move till the day we all stop breathing.

During the Raya Aidilfitri celebrations of 2007 I told my mom as I asked for her forgiveness that for Raya in 2008, she'll have a daughter in law to add to the family, Insyallah. If everything goes well, God willing, the big day out for me would be in May 2008. Drop me an email if you would like to attend so that I can arrange for an invitation card for you. I would be most grateful if you would come and help make the event better.

So here goes to 2008. A lot of things are expected to happen this year and I can only hope and pray that everything goes well. As the saying goes, we all can only plan and He decides what can and will happen in our lives.

Cheers!!! :D
